Weight Management System (WMS)
Web Portal

Logging Onto The WMS Web Portal:
Click on the WMS Login button.  This will take you to the WMS Web Portal.  Enter your Username and Password, this information was emailed to you  upon registering for the program.  You may check the appropriate box to have your password saved concerning future logins.

Logging On For The First Time:
The computer will first check that the appropriate drivers are present on your PC, Checking for Required Software.  The two drivers are Java Internet and SenseWear related.  The web portal checks that the appropriate drivers are present each time an individual logs onto the system.  These drivers can not do harm to your PC.  They allow communication in presenting information and the uploading of the SenseWear data.

The initial log on will require acceptance of the End User License Agreement and Setup Armband.   Please review the End User License Agreement and click to complete.  Next, you will Setup Armband.  The Setup Armband will walk you through the process.  You will need your USB Cable and the SenseWear Unit.  Please follow the Setup Wizard.  You will also see Enter Body Parameters, Set Goals, and Set Targets, which have been completed by your provider.  Please note, you will be able to modify your Body Parameters, Goals, and Targets within the application.

Logging On In The Future:
After your initial logon, the system will always check for the required software and then open your account.  This assumes you are always using the same computer to access the web portal.  If you do use more than one computer, simply logon, the application will check for the required software, download the drivers and your ready to go.

Exploring The WMS Application:
The application is self explanatory but take some time to explore all the features and functions.  The application opens to the Summary page.  Click on the arrow buttons to expand the information.  You can review data concerning Today, Yesterday, and Specific Days.  Under Specific Days, you can view a single day or up to the last 28 days.

The Main Headers On The WMS Portal:
Summary: View Today, Yesterday, and Specific Days.  Expand the information under each of the following headers - Calories Burned - Calories Consumed - Calorie Balance - Physical Activity - Number of Steps - Sleep Duration - Health Indicators.  Above the graph are handle bars to review a specific time frame.  Move the handle bars to dial into a specific time frame and the data presented will be recalculated.

Exercise Plan:
This area is used to build an Exercise Plan relating to Stretching, Cardio Exercise, and Resistance Training.  Name the activity, set the duration, and select the frequency.  This is used only as a guide.

Meal Plan:
An individual can enter a Meal Plan under the following headers, Sunday - Saturday; Breakfast - Snack - Lunch - Snack - Dinner - Snack.  A total of six events.  Our meal data base is extensive and most dishes can be found.  Under the Resources tab, custom foods can be entered.  The Meal Plan is to be used as a guide but can also be used when enter Log Nutrition.

Resources:
Under My Custom Foods one can Enter Nutrition Fact, Build a Recipe, or List Custom Foods.  When a specific food item is not found in the food database you can use one of these tools to enter the appropriate data.  Your Custom Food list will be available in the food data base when creating a Meal Plan or Logging Nutrition.

Calculators: This is an area where you can see expected energy expenditure with various activities.  The activities are listed as Cardio Training >> Lifestyle / Occupation >> Outdoor Activity>> and Sports>>. Take some time to look at various activities and note the standard energy expenditure based on a specific amount of time.  The Food Calculator lists the nutritional content and calories associated with a specific food.  This tool allows an individual to make food comparisons and understand how different food choices impact the number of calories and nutritional content.

Reminders:  This allows the user to set reminders, up to 12 different reminders.  The reminder will come across the Display Unit.

Personal Information:
Four areas of information; Body Parameters - Register Armband - Weight Goals - Targets.  Within each area enter the required data.  Change your targets and goals as you progress through the program.

Upload Armband:
This is the area related to uploading the SenseWear Armband information.  The process is easy and automated.  You will need your USB Cable or your Wireless Communicator.  Read the prompts as your data is uploaded.  Note battery level information.  Upon uploading the memory within the SenseWear Armband is cleared for further collection of data.  Data can be uploaded daily or up to a maximum of two weeks.  Regular intervals, daily or every other day, especially when logging meals, is strongly suggested.  If your armband was off during a specific period you will be prompted to explain the missing time frames.

Log Nutrition:
Enter one of the following, Log Today's Meals, Log Yesterday's Meals, or Log Previous Meals. Within each grouping you will be asked to enter each of the six meals, as listed above.  You can select how you enter your meals by checking off one of the following; I ate my meal plan - I'll log what I ate - I skipped this meal - I ate the same thing as - I didn't eat this meal yet.  Type the food name and choose from the data base.  Note it will apply to the meal you are entering, see left hand corner of calories consumed screen.  You will also notice that as you continue to enter your meal your Frequent Food list will grow.  Over time many of your Frequent Foods will be listed and you can choose them when entering meals.  When complete click on Next Meal.  If any meal does not apply, just click on I skipped this meal.  With time Log Nutrition becomes very easy to navigate, most effort should be applied with in the first week to get you started quickly.

Log Health Indicators:
At this time we offer the ability to enter Body Weight, Body Fat, and Blood Pressure.  You can enter this information on a daily basis to show trending of your improvements over time.  This information is graphed on the Summary and Create Report pages.  We will continue to expand this area with additional indicators.  More to come in the near future.

Create Report:
When you click on Create Report, a calendar will appear.  You can choose to print the report, which is very similar to the Summary page with a comment section provided for each category.  You can choose from the last 7 days up to a complete 28 days.  You can pick the time interval by selecting the date on the calendar.  The date picked will be the last reporting day.  In other words, if you choose a 14 day report and pick September 20th, your report will include September 20th and the prior 14 days.  The report is displayed in an adobe format, which then can be printed.

Export Data:
If you are interested in exporting the raw data, you may select Export Data, the time interval, similar to Create Report, and the information can be saved in an EXL file.
